About the Arunachal's Got Talent (AGT) Programme

Arunachal's Got Talent (AGT) is a prestigious talent program that has successfully completed 12 years of promoting and nurturing talented individuals across Arunachal Pradesh.

The program achieved a significant milestone in 2015, when it became the first event to be included in the Government Calendar, officially announced by Hon'ble Chief Minister Pema Khandu, during the AGT Grand Finale Season 1. In the following years, AGT further strengthened its collaboration with the government by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Youth Affairs, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, through which the programme received annual Grant-in-Aid support for successfully organizing the event and continuing its mission of encouraging youth talent and cultural development across the state.

From AGT to National Stage

AGT is not only a platform that celebrates talent within the state — it also serves as a gateway to national recognition and greater opportunities. Through its strong vision and commitment, AGT prepares talented individuals to step onto prestigious national platforms such as India's Got Talent, Indian Idol, and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, giving them the confidence and exposure needed to compete at higher levels.

Over the years, several outstanding participants from AGT have achieved remarkable success beyond the state. Toko Teji brought immense pride to Arunachal Pradesh by becoming the 1st Runner-up in India's Got Talent, while Tamman Gamnce secured 2nd Runner-up position in Dance India Dance, showcasing exceptional skill and dedication on a national stage. In addition, Jeli Keyi earned recognition among the Top 15 finalists of Indian Idol, further highlighting the immense talent emerging from the region.

These achievements stand as a proud testament to AGT's commitment to nurturing local talent and creating pathways to greater opportunities. By encouraging young performers and providing them with a platform to shine, AGT continues to inspire countless aspiring artists to dream bigger and aim higher.

Foundation / Establishment

Arunachal's Got Talent Charitable Foundation was established in 2014 under the visionary leadership of its Founder-cum-Chairman, Mr. Hillang Nima Dopum, with the proper guidance of its former Mentor-cum-Present Chief Advisor, Dr. Gumjum Haider, former State Information Commissioner (SIC), former General Secretary of the All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union (AAPSU), and former General Secretary of the North East Students' Organization (NESO).

While serving as the Secretary of Art & Culture of the All Nyishi Students' Union (ANSU) in 2014, Mr. Nima, along with his college friends Sangge Droma Bodoi, Watlih Wangjen, Giogi Tade, and Tamuk Geeta, identified a significant gap in the State's cultural and artistic landscape. They recognized that the youth of Arunachal Pradesh possessed immense talent and potential, yet lacked adequate platforms to showcase and develop their abilities.

Driven by a commitment to empower young talents and provide them with opportunities for recognition and growth, Mr. Nima founded Arunachal's Got Talent (AGT). The initiative was further strengthened through the valuable guidance, support, and mentorship of Dr. Gumjum Haider, whose contributions played an instrumental role in shaping the organization's vision and objectives.

To further solidify its commitment to the State and formalize its operations, the organization was officially registered on 19th November, 2019, under Registration No. SR/ITA/6045. The Foundation functions under the provisions of the Societies Registration Act, 1860, as modified and extended to the State by the Societies Registration (Extension to Arunachal Pradesh) Act, 1978.

Youth Empowerment Through AGT

Programme Layout

Arunachal's Got Talent (AGT) is a flagship talent development and entertainment programme dedicated to discovering, promoting, and celebrating the diverse talents of Arunachal Pradesh. The initiative provides a prestigious platform for aspiring artists and performers to showcase their abilities across a wide range of disciplines, including dance, music, singing, acting, and other performing arts. Open to participants from all districts of the State, AGT aims to identify hidden talent, nurture creativity, and inspire excellence among the youth.

As part of its statewide talent search, the AGT organizing committee conducts auditions across multiple districts of Arunachal Pradesh at suitable venues such as schools, colleges, universities, and community centers. These district-level auditions ensure broad participation and provide talented individuals from diverse backgrounds with an equal opportunity to demonstrate their skills and pursue their aspirations.

Participants who successfully qualify through the district auditions advance to the Mega Auditions and subsequent rounds of competition, where they are evaluated by experienced judges and industry professionals. Throughout the selection process, contestants are assessed on their talent, creativity, stage presence, originality, and overall performance.

The programme culminates in a highly anticipated Grand Finale, where the most outstanding finalists perform before an esteemed panel of judges, distinguished guests, and a live audience.
